Felony Drug Possession Charge with Intent to Distribute to be DISMISSED in Fairfax Virginia

Fairfax County, Virginia: Felony Drug Charge – Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, VA Code 18.2-248.1, was REDUCED to misdemeanor simple possession, first offense under VA Code 18.2-250.1, and will be DISMISSED as per a 251 Disposition, Va Code 18.2-251, in 6 months.

FAIRFAX VIRGINIA: Two felony fraud / forgery charges (VA Code 46.2-105.2, a class 6 felony, and VA Code 18.2-168, a class 4 felony) related to fraudulently obtaining documents from the DMV and forgery of public records, were both REDUCED to class 2 misdemeanors with consecutive jail sentences.

Felony Grand Larceny Shoplifting Charge REDUCED to a Misdemeanor w/ NO JAIL in Northern Virginia

Northern Virginia: Felony grand larceny shoplifting / concealing charge (VA Code 18.2-103 and 18.2-95) in Loudoun County, Virginia REDUCED to a Misdemeanor (VA Code 18.2-96) with NO active JAIL TIME (with some other conditions).

Virginia: 10 Felony Sexual Conduct Charges, including aggravated sexual battery by sexual abuse, carnal knowledge, indecent liberties, forcible sodomy, and other such charges – related to 2 underage minor victims – has resulted in a plea deal REDUCTION of the 10 charges into 4 charges, with only 5 active years to serve on all charges (with some additional sentence conditions and restrictions).
Client’s maximum sentence on 10 charges would have kept him in prison for the rest of his life, while his minimum possible sentence on the 10 charges prior to the plea deal would have been a required minimum of 6 years in prison.

Arlington, Virginia: A Class 5 Felony Hit and Run car accident (VA Code 46.2-894) with two witnesses, while driving drunk for the second time in 5 years (VA Code 18.2-266), and a confession to both acts – has resulted in only 30 active days in jail on all charges (together with some other conditions and restrictions), even though the client had 4 prior criminal convictions on his record. Client was facing a maximum of 11 years in prison on both charges.

Alexandria, Virginia: Marina Medvin’s client has walked out of the trial courtroom today as a free man after being accused of 9 felonies relating to credit card number theft and fraud. ALL charges were DISMISSED on defense counsel’s motion during the trial. He was facing charges of credit card theft under VA Code 18.2-192, credit card forgery under VA Code 18.2-193, and credit card fraud under VA Code 18.2-195. He was facing a maximum prison sentence of 80 years in jail as charged.
